Terri Ossman

Terri Ossman was a beloved educator whose dedication to her students at Bates Academy left a mark that time cannot erase. In a school known for nurturing gifted and talented young people, Terri stood out as someone who genuinely cared — not just about academic achievement, but about the whole child.

Teaching at Bates Academy required a special kind of commitment. The students were sharp, curious, and full of potential, and they needed educators who could meet them where they were and push them further. Terri Ossman was that kind of teacher — the kind students remember long after they leave the building.

Her colleagues and former students carry her memory forward through the values she modeled every day: patience, high expectations, and an unwavering belief in what young people could accomplish.
